Youth camp.

Chronicles. 12:11 AM
Theme: Wonders Beyond Our Galaxy
Venue: El Salvador Beach Resort, Danao City, Cebu
Date: May 25- 28, 2008 (Sunday to Wednesday).

I thank GOD I went to this activity entirely for free. Yeah, Mikko's mom sponsored for me.

By the way, may I mention I do not know how to blog anymore? Really. Let me just post several photos and add captions.

The entire universe can just be measured by the span of GOD's hands. Can you just imagine how tiny the galaxies are? And how big, literally BIG, GOD is! (Excuse the pathetic understatements- I am not sufficed enough of words to describe this properly.)

Anyway, makes you think why GOD greatly cares for us, in lengths the universe cannot measure, that he sends us His one and only Son to the cross- despite our major insignificant existence. Also, makes you ponder upon the fact why we have to study cells and atoms when we ourselves are already microscopic!

Mikko sleeping on the way to the resort. She must've lacked sleep that night.. or she just gets bored on roadtrips. Short roadtrips, I shall say. Danao is not that for from Cebu City, compared to Bantayan or somewhere further. It's just like 30 minutes riding in a fast vehicle.

We just landed by the time this photo was taken.

It was so cool, they used the word landing for the time we arrived. When it's breakfast time- they call it feeding the heavenly bodies.
Snack time- it was Cosmic Picnic! Bwahaha so darn funny.
Lunch- Big Bang Buffet.
If you get the gist, the theme of the camp was Wonders Beyond our Galaxy, so it's quite amusing they put a creative twist to the schedule.

Dr. Omar Franco was the theme speaker. There was one topic when he really got deep into all the science stuff- like prebiotic soup (and I don't know what that is). I didn't really know what he was talking about, but, basically, he was disproving them and making a point that what the Bible says is true. No need to get some of us lifelong Christians into that topic- we believe in Genesis 1 credulously.

(more ramblings and photos)

I AM SO NOT USING MULTIPLY TO HOST MY PHOTOS ANYMORE!! Their service is good but their hosting is quite terrible, your portrait photo simply soon becomes the Multiply logo. .

SO CUTE AND HILARIOUS!!!!

and people would be wondering, what's so cute and hilarious about this logo??!

From what I said- I was reading Twilight. And there's a movie COMING UP!!!! GYAAAAAH!! *fangirly~~~* Although it's scheduled to be released on December 2008. Ha-ha-ha. But I have all the time to read all the books anyway. Though not the money.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as Edward and Bella. I do not know Robert Pattinson, but I think I love him already. Hahaha.

GOD bless you all!

edit:
AND WHAT IS UP WITH THE BROKEN LINKS? I CAN'T READ BEYOND THE ENTRY BREAK!! Every time I click to comment it becomes like this:

NOOO! Hope this will be fixed soon coz I did not do anything to screw this thing up.

Depth of Field

. 01:42 AM
Dad's lovely old Ricoh KR-5 will probably temporarily brought back to life.

Online shopping led me to buy a toy film camera (Vivitar PN2011), along with a b&wfilm- and that b&w film I just loaded to the KR-5. Why I bought it? Just because-- I had to scratch the Lomo/Holga/plastic camera itch that I was curious about for a long time now.

Because the KR-5 is an 1980s old manual exposure film SLR camera (what on earth)- I'm actually forced to learn all about shutter speeds, depth of field, aperture, and film rewind crank (I know what this is, but it's a pretty cool term). All the new automatic compact digital cameras impede you from knowing what those are, but hey, why would anyone hate my ultra-compact SD600 that takes all my great photos?! And ultra-compacts are very convenient-- perfect for busy people who are always hurrying! It's not common to find someone lugging a 540g-body (and 1980s too!) camera nowadays (although I'm sure you'd still see some).

My brain's gonna explode with all this information from reading online tutorials but at least I'll love it!

I said "temporary" because sooner- I will realize photo developing and processing is extremely hurtful to the pockets of the students-relying-solely-on-allowance-given-by-parents.

Darn cancelled affairs!

. 12:31 AM
Well, I got to say that GOD does cancel man's plans..

It's quite frustrating but at least... but at least it wasn't that great of a plan enough to be devastated about.

[1]
Wednesday night: Plans to go to Matias and eat barbeque (yeah babeh) because Khaiyl invited us. It cause me great excitement but it was cancelled at the very last minute when I have already showered and changed. Also, Spuds and Anne claimed to be penniless. Hm, I've never really heard about them being broke and why in such a time like this?! But anyway, since that's their excuse, I'll believe them for now.

[2]
Saturday morning: Plans to go to Portofino Beach Resort for the batch outing- and I have a new swimsuit too! But it was cancelled today (friday in my mind, .. told you I was anachronic!) because not many people are going- especially the fun people. Hahay.

Man. So I'll be going to school tomorrow instead of the beach. siiiigh. . . ~ The beach.. the heat of the sun on your skin.. reliving the days of your youth... the sand in between your toes... women in bikini...*

* That's what men in anime/jdramas usually say when they go to the beach. I'm feeling anime-ish today. haha!

University

. 07:38 PM

The classes in university are starting again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again...

Discipline isn't much fun at the time. It always feels like it's going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it's the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God.Hebrews 12:11

I pray, O GOD, for the wellness and comfort of my friend, Anne, who is currently going through so much emotionally. Hang on, Anne!

A one-week-after edit:

Classes are boring. I'm not looking for any challenge, but it leaves me wishing I didn't take any summer classes. But then, staying at home without classes would just be equally as boring.

There is certainly no conclusion that life is boring. I can opt to take dancing or swimming classes, or photography, painting, blah or any whatever, but I choose not to. <-- And I don't know why. Must be because I'm shy and close-minded or something.

Vietnamese goes to Naval

New Findings and Reviews. 06:58 PM
Back from the four-day Naval trip! It was really, really fun (too lazy to think of a non-cliched term for that). How do I write this all out? Still thinking of a good way to say it and make it interesting- in a way that I would still want to read this entry in the future. Princess mentioned it was "the best days of her life". Surely I wouldn't want to forget it all.

THIS WILL BE A PHOTOBLOG. Hopefully.

Day 0~ March 25. Tuesday. (still in Cebu, but it starts here).

• We were supposed to meet at Alli's house at 6pm. However, Chippy as I am, I was late by default. My dad used his cunning wits to intervene, but Chippy as I am, I did not quite understand what he was doing so I relayed the message to them Anne, Alli, Elwin, etc.. misunderstood. That ticked my dad off. Oh well, I won't face his anger at my stupidity since I was leaving anyway! Haha!

• We rode Cagayan Princess and it boarded at 8pm.

• The giant tubeworms that are literally from Hell (something something Riftia) that I talked about scared Holly. We were talking about the supernatural because the house we are supposed to stay in is allegedly haunted by a spirit; so one topic lead to another.

Us

Day 1~ March 26. Wednesday.

• We arrived early enough in the morning to see the sunrise. It was lovely.
(Read complete about the adventure!)

GOD bless everyone! Have a fun week!

about the strawberry shampoo..

. 01:23 PM
The summer fever is kicking in: complete boredom, waking up really late, and starting to become random in blog entries because life and thoughts are getting redundant.

An Entry for Randomness.
• I bought Johnson's Kids Shampoo, because it comes in strawberry flavor, and I want my hair smelling like strawberries. And to my dissapointment, my hair didn't smell like it!! Maybe I should put more..? Hopefully, this wouldn't end up with me having dandruff again - because that would mean my hair will start smelling like CLEAR Anti-Dandruff Shampoo again! Argh! Shampoo change, please!

• Anne, Allison, Princess, Kyle, and some of Alli's cousins are going to OrmocNaval, Biliran, Leyte tomorrow- with me packed in their travelling bags (metaphor!). The adventures and itinerary route I have no idea- but what on earth- at least I'm getting caught in adventure! The more spontaneous, the better, amen?

• Before going to Leyte, I have another affair, still on the same day- Aimee's birthday lunch! Wooohooo~ But underneath that rejoicing is a subtle anxiety because most of the people going are Aimee's high school friends whom I do not know, and I guess most are guys?! Hope there's Mysa and Hezeline to stick with to!

Dragon Zakura (jdrama) just finished downloading in Azureus a minute ago. Well, here comes something to entertain myself with for this day. I haven't finished watching Haruhi Suzumiya but I'm up to my eyeballs getting bored watching it. OK, maybe some anime are not my thing anymore. Renzoku-format are my type (yet why did I just download Dragon Zakura?). But I'm not deleting Haruhi Suzumiya yet coz I'm giving a copy to Hezeline.

that's all!

And since I'm here sent as a messenger of Jesus Christ. I shall preach the word! No, I am not a preacher by title.. but you get the point?

Jesus came to die for YOU on the cross! With that, he forgave all of your sins- offering you the gift of eternal life. He rose again to life, conquering death- and at the same time, you can have that new life too.

Surely you wouldn't want to reject gifts, would you? Put your trust in Jesus and accept his free gift of life.

GOD bless! Have a great week!

a strange bit of melancholy

Of GOD and love. 04:07 PM
short blog.

I just graduated from CCL (caring circle lessons). I am feeling somehow melancholic because I know I can't retake them. I am not allowed to go to the VLTI (Visayas Leadership Training Institute) therefore summer classes here I come! Sadness.. At the same time, if ever I can go the VLTI, I am really scared about being "roasted", and there's no one I am going with: all complete strangers! I'll just continue to pray that the PSALM ministry will continue to explode (according to Steve) in people's lives, especially in my school, CDU. I'll do what I can to help the ministry..

The melancholy and loneliness I am feeling inside led me to tears last night, and just earlier. There is something that cannot be understood even if I tried to..

Photos.
A belated post:

This was on March 14.. His birthday is on the 12th.

"It's not in the right form.. but the tase was so heaven." -Steve. It's the new cake from Red Ribbon!

Not a straight one. this is our graduation photo. hehe.XD

finals finally. School's out!

. 03:26 PM
School's almost out! This is gonna be the lastest week of school... EVERRR!!! for this school year. Hahaha. It was expected - I survived my ten months in university. Getting old and we're going to become sophies now. Somehow at first I didn't like being a freshman because we're looked down by the higher-ups. However, right now, I'd like to remain as one because it would mean I am a fresh and a new face. Thankfully, I won't remain a freshman. Also, to add to that, I hope and pray my brother graduates by the end of the month.

THANK GOD! CWTS is over! PE finals are over (no more body-flexing and humiliating dancing)! FILIPINO is over (enough of this foreign language I am not interested in learning)! Anyway, I am going to take summer classes hopefully with Valerie. I was thinking that I should use my summer for a good purpose rather than idle around and be futile like for the past several years. At the same time, read some good books and watch a good Jdrama.

Highlights of the day.
• I tripped in front of my crush on the stairway earlier this morning. I was extremely embarassed for an extended period of time. In addition to that, my ankles still hurt up to this very hour. Still hoping that he didn't see what happened, and that his friends won't tell him about it. And if he did see, I'm hoping that this two-month summer break would eventually make him and his friends forget. Or.. just hoping he has immediately forgotten what had happened, and dismissed it.

• Edlyn's treat at KFC in SM. I was very satisfied. I am thinking right now on when I can buy gifts for Mysa, Aimee, and Edlyn herself, and how can I do it in a short period of time with the lack of money along with the lack of ideas.

• Got late for Physics exam. And it was an easy one too! Yee ha!

Anyway, I ran accross a really good site. Break the Chain - a site that encourages you to stop sending chain letters, along with meticulous scrutiny of a chain mail's authenticity, even analysis.

Word of the day.
Pareidolia - having/finding an illusion or image in an obscure stimulus. Example: seeing a shape or a face of a man in the clouds.

Random.

imagen taken from moongeunyoung.org
This is Moon Geun Young. Nothing. Just went across my mind. She's very pretty. :O Oh yeah, doesn't she resemble Barbie Almalbis? ^

That'll be all. GOD bless!

February 27th, 2008

entry for February 2008!

. 07:57 PM
Okay, February is about to end and I haven't even blogged for this month! XD woops! Anyway, I never really planned to blog about anything. I have lost my ranting abilities, and if ever I do try to, I am like a university professor not worth listening to.

Shall the whole month be summed up in this entry? Not much happened. Not much has been happening in my life. I guess it's this phase in my life where everything's idle. Argh! Anyway, somehow I'm a bit thankful for a boring life. Really. However I know that's not what I live for. I know full well I'm not only up to living a boring life. The thing is, I know I live for GOD, and that's what I'm trying to do. Anyway, this is currently what has been given to me for now. I'll just have to wait for the real thing. And ask for His sufficient grace too.

Oh yeah. We just had our finals for Filipino12 awhile ago. A roleplay. I guess it was kind of terrible. I prayed hard for it before the BIG performance. Things didn't turn out well, the reason was that we absolutely lacked practice, we weren't cooperative and I didn't even know that TODAY was the day we'd perform it.

However, I'm still thankful we passed (since Gera said we just passed). Glad it's over, though it didn't really bother me when it wasn't yet. I had a quite embarassing role (for me it was). I was a prince therefore I had to crossdress as a dude. Meanwhile, my brother's finals for English14 was to make a movie. I liked it!!! I was thinking that hopefully we'd do that too.. but then, if we sucked at roleplay, how much more would we suck when it's movie-making. Sigh.

Physics Olympics tomorrow. Gotta get to school early. I pray we win! And then on Friday, I guess it's PE day? Hmm.. classes are not so clear now. That's a good thing. There's nothing to study for tonight that's why I found time to write this. I was planning on reading my Death Note manga, but I was a bit discouraged because Near and Mello make my head hurt thinking and I just wanna skip it all and finish it.

I also have Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu to watch! But then the comp's too slow it even has a hard time playing videos. Argh!

Guess that'll be all. GOD bless you guys! XD

Chippy has been the protagonist of this blog since September 2004. Frequently confused by her age, she shall just identify herself as "anachronic" when asked. She is a Christian belonging in the Protestant denomination. She is also a photography hobbyist; or simply rather, a jack of all trades, master of none. The coolest word that can ever describe her is ambidextrous; and never forgets to include that word in her every "about me"s. She currently (and probably permanently) resides in Cebu with her family, three dogs, and a cat.
